On September 18, China Geo-engineering Corporation (CGC) signed a contract with Mozambique’s Water Supply Asset and Investment Fund (FIPAG) for the rehabilitation and expansion of the water supply system in Tofo tourism area of Inhambane Province.

Tofo tourism area is a core tourist destination in Inhambane Province. Currently, the area’s daily water supply stands at only 450 cubic meters, which is insufficient to meet residents’ and businesses’ needs. Upon completion of the project, the daily water supply will surge to 5,760 cubic meters, with water quality also significantly improved. This will create favorable conditions for enhancing the local tourism investment environment, strengthening market confidence in regional tourism development, and increasing local income levels, thereby contributing to the long-term economic and social development of Inhambane Province.
