On October 24, the ESG International Expo 2025 was held in Beijing. Attendees included Shao Ning, former Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC); Weng Jieming, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Deputy Director of its Financial and Economic Affairs Committee; Wu Xiaoqing, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and Deputy Director of its Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee; Qian Zhiming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and Deputy Director of its Population, Resources and Environment Committee; and Peng Huagang, President of the China Enterprise Reform and Development Society. Liao Jiasheng, Chairman of CECEP, was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech titled “Focusing on Green Development, Practicing ESG Principles, and Building a World-Class Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group”.

Liao emphasized that as a central enterprise dedicated to energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP has always taken Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization as its guiding principle and attached great importance to ESG development. The Group has deeply integrated ESG concepts into all aspects of its operations and management, making solid progress in ESG governance, industrial development and concept promotion. These efforts have continuously infused CECEP’s journey toward becoming a world-class energy conservation and environmental protection group with green momentum. Drawing on CECEP’s experience, Liao also offered suggestions on ESG policy and regulation, practical implementation, capacity building and ecosystem collaboration.
During the event, Liao visited the CECEP exhibition area at the inaugural ESG International Expo and briefed attending leaders on the Group’s ESG practices.
The conference was co-hosted by the China Enterprise Reform and Development Society and Shougang Group under the theme “Innovation Across the Chain, Green Transformation for the Future”. It aimed to enhance public understanding and consensus on ESG values and promote a modern governance framework that balances high-quality economic growth with ecological sustainability.
Leaders from CECEP’s Research Center and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Market Development Center also attended the conference.
